Luke Longo

Luke Longo grew up with a fierce love for baseball.

This summer, Luke’s aspirations were affirmed when he committed to NJIT as the team’s future catcher. His coaches had informed him that NJIT had been scouting him for two years and that they were offering him an athletic scholarship.

After further researching NJIT, he quickly realized that it would be a perfect fit for him. Not only were they offering a position on a Division 1 baseball team, but they also were well-known for their rigorous business program. Luke is one of many scouted Central athletes and, like his peers, wants to continue his passion for the sport as well as pursue a non-athletic career.

Aside from baseball, Luke spends his time volunteering within his church, through the Starfish Foundation, in the special Olympics and HOPS programs, and he teaches younger baseball players. Luke has always felt a desire to give back to his community and is looking forward to expanding and further exploring the volunteer opportunities offered at NJIT.

As Luke looks to get a degree in Business Administration, he inspires others around him by showing that he can fuse all of his interests together without compromising what defines him.
