What are some of your family traditions during Thanksgiving?
Jessica Mastriano (‘22)
- Every year my family and I go to my uncle’s house the day before Thanksgiving, and we bake a ton of pies. We call it Pie Baking Night. We make apple pies, pumpkin pies, and our favorite pie called Dreamy High Pumpkin Pie.
Noah Miller (‘22)
- Every year my family and I spend the morning running the Turkey Trot. We sign up as a team and take it very seriously. Our best finish was 19th, and I got 2nd in my age group. We come home exhausted, and refuel by devouring a big meal. We spend the rest of the day watching football, especially this year when we get to watch the Bills beat Saints.
Julia Andresson (‘23)
- In my family, we always have traditional Thanksgiving foods like turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and gravy, but we also include Portuguese desserts at the end. We also always watch movies and sit around the fire. Also, my family goes out to get our Christmas tree the next morning and decorate the entire house!
Alina Patel (‘24)
- My family goes around the table and shares something that we are grateful for. My sisters and I usually watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV in our pajamas in the morning. We have a big feast with my extended family and we usually like to bring the side dishes like stuffing, mashed potatoes, and more!
Katie Holdren (‘23)
- One of my Thanksgiving traditions is baking pumpkin pies at my grandparents house with my parents, my sister, and my cousins. We also eat dinner at my family friends’ house. Some of the foods we eat for dinner are turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and muffins.
