It’s Spring, so you know what that means; a new season means a new wardrobe! Thankfully, we’re here to help you update your closet. For your convenience, all of the outfits we discuss are linked in this: presentation. Let’s begin…
Colors
When it comes to creating an outfit, picking the right colors is the most important aspect. Springtime calls for a pastel color palette: pinks, blues, purples, and yellows. Essentially, all the colors that are toned down with white will match. However, it’s important to know what colors look best on you. They might not be apart of the traditional spring palette and that’s okay. The Creative Glow recommends this process: “Take a look at your trusty color wheel and you’ll find them. So, red compliments green, yellow compliments purple, orange compliments blue, and so on” (Duguay). Ultimately, creating a look that works for your features will be a game-changer!
Tops
A colored shirt and bottoms may seem too simplistic, but they allow you to quickly pull together a spring-themed outfit. Likewise, tight baby tees can add different textures to your outfit, while breathable t-shirts are essential for hot summer days. Plus, they can easily be paired with any shorts of your choosing. We recommend buying from stores like, Under Armour, Kohls, Amazon, and Free People for tops that complete your look.
Bottoms
According to the style gurus of TikTok, mini jean shorts are in style this spring. This trend has also been seen on many other social media platforms, including Instagram and we can see why. They can be dressed down using flowy shirts or dressed up wearing a fancier top. Additionally, jean shorts are standard for spring weather and can be styled the same way. High-waisted sweat shorts go great with cropped tees and can give you the comfort you need. Southern Tide has great active shorts and khakis, depending on what you’d like to wear, and can be styled with any t-shirt. We recommend using Southern Tide, Lululemon, Levis, and Garage to find the bottoms you love.
Dresses
Flowy dresses are a staple in spring wardrobes. You can wear these to dinners, on vacation, or even to school if you’d like. There are so many options when it comes to cut, length, color, and more. Whether maxi or mini, floral patterns will be the best design for springtime. Also, most people don’t know that you can actually add accessories to your dresses. Sophie Shaw, a journalist for CNN says that: “The coquette aesthetic embraces all things girly, like bow-adorned accessories and frilly trims” (Shaw). An easy way to add a bow to your dress is to run to your nearest Michaels store and grab some ribbon. Here’s a video on how to make a perfect bow for your dress: How to Tie a Perfect Sash Bow.
Shoes
Everyone should have a cute pair of shoes while walking downtown. For springtime, there are many different options you can choose from style-wise. You could go with an open-toe option like Birkenstocks or flip-flops. You can also put on some stylish sneakers to pull your outfit together. There are numerous colors and designs on Nike or Adidas that you can customize to your liking.
Jewelry
Evry Jewels has very good jewelry, including, custom necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. These all have the option of silver or gold, depending on your preference. They also have rings in the shape of flowers, which are perfect for the spring. These can be paired with a flower necklace, and beaded bracelet.
We hope this style guide helps you create, style, and accessorize your spring outfits. Goodbye winter, hello warm weather!
