Every year, the drift from season to season brings a change to trends & fashion. Whether it be transitioning from a basic summer tee to a burnt orange sweater, fall is the start of the colder days and cozier clothing wear. Fashion is constantly changing, and knowing what the latest trends are can be a great help when deciding what to wear. Here are some of the latest styles that have been seen this year!

A clothing staple that has been extremely abundant on Instagram feeds is turtlenecks. This timeless piece is a must-have during fall because of the variety of ways it can be styled. It can be worn with a nice denim jacket along with jeans and jewelry, or dressed down and worn under a graphic t-shirt with a pair of leggings. A recent fashion craze is layering different clothing to add a sense of depth to an outfit.

For those looking to add some bolder pieces to their closets, colored leather is a current trend that might be worth trying. Leather adds a nice pop of color, and since it is typically seen from high-end designers, it’s an easy way to spice up your outfit and give it a more luxurious look. Furthermore, leather has a wide versatility, which is one of the reasons why it has become one of the latest fashion crazes.

Along the lines of unique fashion, animal print has become extremely prominent as well. The media started seeing the revival of this trend at the beginning of summer and it has since carried itself into fall fashion. Patterns such as leopard prints, cow print, zebra stripes, and snake prints have become a perfect way to add some spunk and excitement to your wardrobe. There is a lot of diversity in how to incorporate animal print into a certain look: printed pants, shirts, handbags, skirts, hats, sweaters, and plenty more.

Lastly, a fan favorite is patchwork fashion. Recently, sustainability has been a prevalent topic in the fashion industry, which is why many individuals have gathered old pieces of fabric to sew together a masterpiece. Similar to animal print, this is another trend that has found its way back into the magazines, and many have come to love the features to it. This trend gives designers a lot more freedom in their work to experiment with their use of textiles, patterns, and colors.

Oftentimes it is hard to come across some of these prevailing styles at an affordable cost and good quality, which is why many people have started thrifting. Buying clothing second-hand is more sustainable and affordable. Thrifting has become all the rage within the last year due to the rare and interesting items people have been able to find for reasonable prices, whether they be vintage, unique, etc. Goodwill, Unique, and online websites such as Depop and Poshmark are a great way to start.

2020’s fall fashion can be described easily in three words: bold, timeless, and chic. These fads have all been worn for decades, but 2020’s contemporary take on them are making many look at fashion in a new way.
