With fall upon us and colder weather settling in, it’s the perfect time of year to get into the fall spirit. A great way to decorate this holiday season is to take part in some DIY (do-it-yourself) projects of your own that can be easily done, especially if you’re under a budget. Here are a few simple and beautiful projects explained step by step to spice up your fall decor!

Nothing is better than a delightful smelling candle during chilly fall weather. This first DIY is a homemade cinnamon candle to bring the scent of autumn right into your house. For this project, you’ll need a glass jar or container, candle wicks, flaked soy wax, 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, and ½ tablespoon of ground cloves. Start by melting 2 cups of wax in the microwave for 1 minute. Next, prepare the candle jar. Wrap your wick around a skewer and rest it at the top of the jar, making sure it reaches the bottom. Go back to the melted wax and add the vanilla extract, cinnamon, and ground cloves mixing together until everything is well combined. Slowly add the wax to the jar and adjust the wick as needed. Once cooled, light your candle to boost the mood with the warm aroma of fall!

The image of a beautiful fall day is engraved into many of our minds: leaves change color and warm hues surround our neighborhoods. With this in mind, this leaf wreath will give your front door or any room of your house that classic fall look. Plus, it’s so simple to make! You’ll need a basic stick wreath (this can be found at any craft store), hot glue, and leaves (real or fake). First, use your glue gun to attach the leaves to the wreath. To have the best results, randomize the leaves and make sure to layer and overlap them. If you would like, be creative and decorate your wreath even more with acorns, flowers, and berries.

Halloween might be over, but it’s still fall, and pumpkins are a staple of fall decoration. There are tons to be done with pumpkins other than carving them. This DIY uses pumpkins and pinecones to create a piece of decor that can be used as a table centerpiece or a decoration for your nightstand! For this craft, you’ll need small, plastic pumpkins, pinecones, and glass jars or containers of your choosing. All that needs to be done for this project is to randomly layer pumpkins and pinecones in your glass container. To customize your jar, you can include a strand of battery-powered lights and string it in between the pumpkins and pinecones. And for an extra touch of fall, you can include cinnamon sticks for a light warm smell. This piece of pumpkin decor is sure to bring that extra touch of fall to your room!

With these fall DIYs, your home is sure to be very festive, cozy, and reminiscent of the true spirit of fall!
