There are 12 zodiac signs, determined by what day you were born.

Zodiac signs have always held a certain mythical fascination for people, owing to the perception that consciousness may never be truly separated from nature. Zodiac signs are constellations in the sky which are assigned to people born at different times of the year, based on the position of the Sun at the moment they were born. They are often used to predict a person’s character traits, but in this article we will expand further than that. Certain school subjects can also be linked to zodiac signs to predict what astrology says about your academic interests. Whether you believe in their accuracy or not, it is always fun to analyze their implications. Who knows, zodiac signs may help you identify the subjects that match your traits and discover your hidden talents.

The twelve zodiac signs are grouped into four categories: Air, Earth, Water, and Fire. An analysis of the character of each reveals that they are more or less representative of the four core academic subjects: language arts, math, history, and science respectively. People with one of the three air signs Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, tend to be rational, social, and intellectual. Sources say they love philosophical discussions, social gatherings and good books, which sounds like a perfect match for language arts. Like the wind, writing and reading are very subjective. Some days the wind blows in one direction while on others it blows another direction. Perhaps that is why Sylvia Plath won the Pulitzer prize nineteen years after her passing, and Vincent Van Gogh is being celebrated more than a century later while only being able to sell one painting during his lifetime.

The opposite of air would probably be Earth. Math is a good representation of the character traits defined in the zodiac signs of Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. As the name suggests, mathematics is “down to Earth” and objective. It is practical, loyal, and stable. One plus one always equals two.

History is analogous to the element of water; the perpetual flow of the river of time carves out history. One can never completely separate the past from the present or future, like how one can never divide a stream of water. People who are either Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces are usually mysterious and sensitive. History is shrouded in mystery; we can never be completely certain what truly happened hundreds, thousands, or millions of years ago.  It is sensitive to both

sides of the story which is why we always analyze what the loyalists and the patriots believed during the American Revolution.

Finally, science can be represented by the element of Fire. Science is a very complicated topic. At the physical level, chemical reactions can get angry and fiery very quickly. At the quantum level, electrons behave both as particles and as waves. It is not possible to locate the exact position of an electron, only the region they are most likely to be present inside an electron cloud. Despite being so complicated, science can still be predicted and controlled, like how we can anticipate the spreading of a fire based on land topography. The fire signs: aries, leo, and sagittarius, are known for their traits of passion, creativity, spontaneity, and inspiration. That “eureka” moment when the solution finally presents itself.

Perhaps you have noticed resemblances between yourself, your interests, and the descriptions of your zodiac sign. It is truly fascinating to see how the constellations in the sky may have a connection with the people on Earth. Nevertheless, it is important to keep in mind that each person is unique, which is why at times there are multiple subjects associated with a single zodiac sign. You are the star of your own life, make it what you desire.
